GTECH S.p.A. announced that Neil Abrams is joining the Company to lead the legal team.

Gtech appoint Neil Abrams as senior vice president and general counsel

As Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Abrams will be responsible for overseeing all legal and corporate governance matters for the Company, and will report to GTECH Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Alberto Fornaro.

As GTECH prepares for the imminent acquisition of IGT, and we begin listing on the New York Stock Exchange, our legal team will play a critical role ensuring we successfully navigate these changes and opportunities,” said Alberto Fornaro, GTECH Chief Financial Officer. “Neil’s lengthy and transformative experience with IBM, combined with his strong customer focus, will provide GTECH with the depth and expertise needed to meet these objectives.”

Abrams has more than 30 years of experience in positions of increasing scope and responsibility with IBM. Most recently, he served as IBM’s Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, Client Experience, where he was responsible for transforming and simplifying the way that IBM conducts business with its clients. As a result, IBM won a 2014 Innovation Award from the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management Association for boldly and rapidly transforming its cloud computing contract process.

Abrams also managed IBM’s mergers and acquisition legal staff, and the corporation’s contracts development organization. Previously, he was the Chief Legal Officer for IBM’s software business. Other roles included Vice President for software intellectual property, Chief Counsel for the venture capital group, and Associate General Counsel for several IBM technology businesses.

Abrams received his Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University in New York, and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from State University of New York at Albany. He is a member of the New York State Bar.
