Ladbrokes sees SSBT use jump 138%

In its first-quarter statement, the company revealed that the amount staked through its SSBT estate was up more than 138 per cent year on year.
SG Connect, Scientific Games’ field service division in the UK, recently signed a contract with Best Gaming Technology to refurbish, supply and service 2,050 of its Vision self-service betting terminals, which will be deployed to the Ladbrokes estate.
Under the contract, every Ladbrokes shop in the UK will house at least one SSBT that uses SG Connect hardware. The number of SG Connect-serviced SSBTs in the Ladbrokes estate will double in the space of two years, following the success of 1,730 SSBTS already deployed by the bookmaker. The rollout is expected to be completed in August, ahead of the start of the football season.
Ladbrokes described machine performance in its shops as “strong,” reflecting good customer response to its Clarity machines a, particularly, in lower staking slot-based games. Gross win per terminal per week rose 16 per cent to £1,033.
During the three-month period, the company closed 15 shops as part of its plans to close around 60 locations, meaning that its estate numbered 2,194 shops at the end of March. Overall UK net retail revenue was up 4.3 per cent in the first quarter.
