March 2023 online poker data, slight rise in mtt and cash games, but January is still far away Rise of a few percentage points (due to 3 more days per month?) for the mtt and cash games collection and spending of 'dot it' online poker.
Slight increase for "dot it" online poker in March 2023 which, with three more collection days, fails to return to the performance levels (excellent, at this point) of January. Therefore, tournaments and cash games resist even if, as we approach the summer months and with the continuous proliferation of live tournaments throughout Europe (as well as the advent of the World Series of Poker) and the spread of events in local clubs, the risk that this legal gaming vertical drops again as the warm season approaches is very concrete. That seems to be the trend.
But let's see the data. Games of skill in the tournament collected €114.5 million, for an expense of 9.7 million, increasing half a million more to the supply chain and the treasury but the 11.5 million in January 2023 are very far away.
In the same way, cash games rise to €240.9 million collected in net transactions and just over 6 million of expense, 600 million more than in February 2023 but 1.3 less than in January of the same year.
Therefore, the decline recorded in February in absolute terms on actual and daily collection remains, therefore considering the three more days
of the month that has just ended.
The data for 2022 were in line with the boom of the year during the pandemic, the 2020. The sector also seems to resists because if we take
into account, for example, the month of July for tournaments, €91.3 million had been collected and the numbers are still higher than the 93
million of May. As for cash games, in July there were €190.6 million and if we think of a month as good as May when 188.4 million were collected,
the market performance this month is even better.
As we saw in the year-end estimates from the data provided by the operators, we went back to the growth data caused by the Covid-19 lockdowns and the trend at the beginning of 2023 really bodes well. And as we have already evaluated, this slowdown could revise some evaluations but, it must be said, that the live poker market could also drain many resources from online gaming.
March 2023 poker room data, cash game and tournament rankings
Poker room rankings for both online cash games and tournaments by percentage share of expenditure in March 2023.
How was the performance of the "dot it" licensed poker rooms in March 2023? Here are the shares of the expenditure according to the Gioconews.it analysis, based on the data provided by the operators.
Let's start with cash games. PokerStars drops from 42.11% in February 2023 to 40.20%, while E-Play 24 grows to 11.37% becoming the second force in cash games for percentage expenditure from 10.99 points in February. Gbo Italy loses 0.4% while Sisal and Snaitech still fall, probably losing shares within iPoker. Oia Services grew considerably at 0.38%.
PokerStars also falls in this ranking, but by less than 1% and, we known, by increasing the numbers of the collection in this month, it is possible that the values have also increased rather than decreased. Gbo Italy drops from 11.45% to 7-07%, with Sisal resisting, while Snaitech rises in the ranking thanks to the slight drop of E-Play 24. Oia Services doubles the share
