Uk: the world of gaming mourns Simon Liddle, editor of InterGame

Simon Liddle is dead. He leaves a void that will be difficult to fill in the world of gaming and of publishing of the field. The editor of InterGame magazine, very young for the important role he held for some years now, and really too young to die, at the age of just 32.

The editorial staff of the newspaper gave the news, highlighting the shock of losing not only their editor, but also one of the main members of the team, working with him for over seven years. “Bright, determined and hard-working – the editorial staff writes - he was the editor of InterGaming magazine before taking on the role of editor of the company’s flagship title, InterGame.

InterGame has lost a dear friend and one of its most loyal and respected employees. Our hearts are breaking but our thoughts are with Simon’s family and close friends, especially with his wife Rebecca and their young son Rafe”.

Simon was diagnosed with cancer in July 2015 but, despite the severity of the disease, continued to work hard and apply himself with typical good humour and stoicism that have ever characterized him.
Personally, I met Simon a few years ago, when we started a long-distance professional relationship, exchanging impressions, ideas and visions of gaming world, immediately establishing a special feeling. Thanks to his extraordinary open-mindedness and to his remarkable willingness for which he was always appreciated in the industry and beyond. From this exchange of ideas, the editorial cooperation between the two magazines - Gioco News and InterGame - and between the two publishing groups Gn Media and InterGame Ltd – started few months ago, which Simon has pursued with determination and an extraordinary commitment, despite the difficulties caused by the disease.
The news of his death is devastating and look forward, at this time, it's really hard. For everyone. But the best way to remember him will be to carry on his work and the projects in which he believed, with the same passion and determination that he dedicated to them.
For this reason we express our solidarity to the Simon family and to the colleagues of InterGame editorial staff. With all the affection and respect with which we remember Simon.
