The contract includes all matches of the current running Turkish cup competition and started with the live transmission of the match between Bandirmaspor and Elazigspor on Tuesday, December 3, at 12am (CET) followed by further nine matches this week. The acquired media rights packages will be distributed in Betradar’s Live Channel, which was launched earlier this summer. Moreover, Sportradar acquired the exclusive retail rights for the Azerbaijan Premier League, Kazakhstan Premier League and the Polish I Liga.

For the 2012–13 season of the Turkish cup competition, an expanded tournament format has been adopted. Today, a record 156 teams compete in the tournament. After five knockout rounds, a round-robin group stage is contested. Group winners and runners-up play in semi-finals and finals. Fenerbahçe are the current holders of the cup. Galatasaray has won a record 19 Türkiye Kupasi titles, followed by Besiktas with 15 cup titles. Galatasaray will try to take the next step to its 20th title when it plays against Gaziantep BS tonight (6pm, CET). Fenerbahçe will follow on Wednesday (6pm, CET) against Fethiyespor, Besiktas on Thursday (7:30pm, CET) against Bucaspor, which means a schedule full of attractive matches.

The streaming channel for betting shops operators is the first product ever that combines customers’ live odds, live statistics and most importantly, live pictures of sports events around the world on one single screen. Within a few weeks, several hundred betting shops have already integrated the Live Channel, and have shown themselves to be enthusiastic about the success of the product, and have subsequently increased their business’s turnover significantly.

Sportradar’s Managing Director of Media Rights, Joern Anhalt, welcomes the agreement with Saran Group: “Through this deal, we gain top-class football for our Live Channel for our retail betting customers. The Turkish Cup competition, equipped with international tops stars like Didier Drogba, Wesley Sneijder and Raul Meireles, is an absolute highlight for our customers and will for sure increase customer satisfaction in the betting shops. Our focus is to provide our clients with live sports content during their entire opening hours. This deal increases our portfolio of football matches by further 300 to a total of 1,200 matches per season.”
