The strongly negative trend of Italian casinos continues, deeply affected by Covid-19.

Covid-19 didn't run out its negative effect, from any point of view. Gioconews.it studies it from the point of view of business, that of Italian casinos, which in July, despite having been operational for the entire month, report strongly declining results and which seem to confirm that, after the initial "enthusiasm" of half June for a supposed return to normality, it turned out to be still far away. As usual, Gioconews.it's analysis starts from the casino that had the best, albeit negative, result: that of Sanremo. SANREMO - The Casinò di Sanremo ends the month with revenue of €2,939,089, that is to say 18.15 percent less than in July 2019: a result that, compared to that obtained by the Venetian and from Valle d'Aosta competitors, seems almost a positive one. Slots stand, always in the perspective of a decidedly sui generis period, collecting €2,472,147, 17.02 percent less, and blackjack records an even positive trend, with its €119,997, 49.09 percent more. The remaining games are all decreasing, but in a different way: roulette loses only 2.52 percent (€168,175), while the English one is at minus 30.18 percent (€64,404). Punto Banco was very bad, with revenue decreasing of 87.23 percent, while poker cash decreases of 17.27 percent (€63,622) and tournament poker of 23.05 percent (€31,786). Finally, the entrances: they were 12,065, for a negative change of 21.60 percent. The July results have a negative impact on the revenue of a 2020 that had instead started well: in the first seven months, revenue was of €12,941,079, 49.08 percent less, while in the twelve months not coinciding with the calendar year and which ended in July 2020, amounted to €31,929,873, 26.79 percent less. SAINT VINCENT - The ongoing pandemic also affected Valle d'Aosta, with effects also on the gaming house. July 2020 ends at the Saint Vincent Resort & Casino with a gaming revenue of €3,743,113, that is to say 30.64 percent less (minus €1,653,436), compared to the same month of 2019. Entrances were 22,424, down by 17.80 percent on the same month of 2019. Analyzing the data in detail, tables end the month as a whole with a negative result of 43.97 percent (minus €1,047,936). The following games are currently open: fairoulette (minus 34.40 percent), poker ultimate (plus 13.15 percent), poker Saint Vincent (plus 33.03 percent), American roulette (minus 19.99 percent), black jack (plus 1.19 percent), punto banco (minus 39.81 percent) and craps (minus 48.68 percent). Slot machines collect € 2,407,819 in the month (minus 20.09 percent), compared to the same month in 2019, in absolute terms, €605,500 less. The lockdown months (from March, the 8th, to June, the 15th) also causes a price to pay at the Valle d'Aosta's casino: from January to July 2020 there was a revenue of €17,052,013, 50.87 percent less than in the same period of the last year, while in the non-calendar year they amounted to €42,988,460, with a negative change of 29.06 percent compared to the previous, always non-calendar year. VENICE - Covid-19 is damaging, and a lot, also the Casino di Venezia, whose headquarters in Ca' Vendramin Calergi are still closed. In fact, July collections amounted to €4,966,113, with a negative change of 39.08 percent, compared to a year ago. Also entrances are decreasing: there have been 35,942, 30.43 percent less. However, analyzing the data, we see that some games have withstood the impact of the very serious health and economic crisis that certainly hit the Casinò di Venezia, while others even recorded excellent growth. In fact, slots collect €3,774,586, 21.59 percent less, while punto banco ends the past month with €784,344, 103.32 percent more. Traditional games suffer the temporary closure of the Ca' Vendramin Calergi headquarters, so much so that roulette collects €19,610, 94,87 percent less, fair roulette 369,598, 68.67 percent less, chemin de fer €348,745, 13.33 percent less, and black jack even loses €409,088, even €1,177,268 less than a year ago. As for poker cash, with its €78,417 collected, the sign is negative by 64.26 percent. The annual revenue of the Casinò di Venezia is in sharp decline, even 56.90 percent, for revenue of €23,386,182. From August 2019 to July 2020, it collects €35,630,680, i.e. 32.91 percent less than in the previous twelve months. THE ITALIAN DATA - A few other numbers, to give an idea of how much the coronavirus has negatively affected casinos. In the first seven months of the year, the overall revenue of Italian casinos fell by 53.33 percent, for a total of €53,369,274. The golden age of casinos is really far away, and they seemed to have reached the blackest pages with the closure of the Casinò Campione d'Italia, on July, the 27th, two years ago, a sadly remembered anniversary, without having been identified a concrete way for its reopening at present.
