GAT Expo Puerto Rico 2025 opens with strong attendance and industry acclaim
The opening ceremony was led by Juan Carlos Santaella Marchán, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, joined by government and tourism representatives. The event gathered over a hundred operators, regulators, and international companies, confirming the strong interest in Puerto Rico’s growing gaming market.
The academic agenda, hosted by Lorna Huertas Padilla, featured 18 speakers from both the public and private sectors, addressing regulatory updates and emerging technologies. Among the most notable panels was ‘New Era: Casino and Route Machines in Puerto Rico’, with Luis Del Valle (Novomatic) and Jaime Alex Irizarry (Royal Gaming Logistics), and the presentation by Jorge Rojas Rumilla (Prometeo IT México) on online transparency and control systems.
The discussion then turned to ‘Betting on eSports’, moderated by Loraine Irizarry, with Ricardo Román (Red Rooster Team), José Aníbal Aguirre (GAT Events – Mobadoo), and Juan Pablo Barahona (Betby), exploring the rapid expansion of eSports and its integration with the betting industry.
The day concluded with keynotes by Daniel Arias (Amusnet) on CRM applied to land-based operations and Evert Montero (Fecoljuegos, FIJA) on the importance of trade associations as the unified voice of the gaming industry in Latin America.
Networking continued with a business lunch, a cultural tour of Old San Juan, and a welcome cocktail sponsored by Hipódromo Camarero, strengthening relationships between local authorities and international operators.

Today, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the event continues with the second academic day and the official opening of the commercial exhibition, featuring leading global and regional gaming brands showcasing casino equipment and online platforms.
