Eag has confirmed that the 2026 Pub Summit will deliver one of its strongest programmes to date, with a roster of sector leaders set to examine the commercial, regulatory and operational forces that are impacting the future of the British pub.

Moderated by Peter Davies, who serves as Chair of Bacta’s Gaming Council the panel will feature Dawn Clarke, Head of Electronic Leisure at Mitchells & Butlers, Daniel Chadaway, Head of Gaming for Stonegate Group, Simon Barff, Managing Director of CLMS, a senior representative from Ukhospitality and Teddy Ryan, Managing Director of the public affairs consultancy Anacta.

Previewing the annual event Peter Davies stated: “The Eag Pub Summit will feature a stellar panel of experts and deal with the key issues impacting the sector,” adding that the 2026 event “Promises some of the most valuable cross-industry insight we’ve ever hosted encompassing first-hand operator insight, an examination of how entertainment and gaming can shape both the customer experience and pub profitability as well as expert analysis on government policy impacting pubs and the expectations for Westminster in the year ahead.”

The Summit will explore the full breadth of pub entertainment equipment from gaming machines to music, cue sports, interactive darts and new competitive socialising formats. “Operators have a diverse and growing revenue opportunity in the provision of pay-to-play entertainment,” Davies noted. “Hearing directly from major operators on what is working will be hugely valuable.”

On the continued importance of gaming machines to the business model, Davies stressed their commercial significance. “Category C remains a proven, low-stake, universally appealing product genre. Ensuring that the Cat C sector can evolve is essential, and the prospects of securing a long-overdue stake and prize review will most certainly be on the agenda.”

Addressing the challenges facing the sector, Davies added: “Pubs are facing a perfect storm of rising costs and having The Pub Summit taking place alongside the very latest equipment presented on the Eag show floor is an invaluable opportunity for visitors to gain clarity, share ideas and access the products that can generate new revenue streams, impact foot-fall and stimulate dwell time.”

The free to attend Eag Pub Summit will take place 13 January, 13.00 – 14.15 in Seminar Room 6 North Gallery, ExCeL London.
