The long good time of casino games in Italy continues, while the market changes and there are operators who are growing and others who are selling market shares.
But let's go in order: in March, spending on "dot it" casinos, i.e. on fixed-odds games of chance and solitaire cards, was €196,798,489, according to Gioconews.it processing on operator data, a figure that is obtained by subtracting from the net movement, €5,120,587,955, what was returned to the players in the form of winnings, €4,923,789,466.
Last year, spending was €155,496,696 (collection of €4,349,979,285 and winnings of €4,194,482,575), therefore the growth was 26.5 percent.
Spending is also growing compared to February 2023, when it stood at €178,892,794, but obviously the three extra days of March make a difference too.
Last month, 67,343,834 bets were counted.
MARKET SHARES - As for the market shares of the 86 operators active in Italy, calculated with respect to expenditure, Gbo Italy Spa (a company resulting from the merger between Lottomatica and Goldbet) dominates, with the two concessions which, added together, lead to a share of the 13.81 percent (7.10 percent and 6.44 percent). This is a growing result from February, when it held 13.2 percent. Sisal Entertainment Spa follows with 9.44 percent (9.45 in February 2023), while Snaitech Spa is at the third place with 8.05 (8.23 the previous month).
However, here are the data of the main operators, including land-based casinos, which however confirm a very limited presence in the virtual space.
