One of the most important and capable managers in the sector, Fabio Cairoli, 58-year-old from Milan, had a stroke while on board a yacht docked in the port on the red pier on the Giglio Island. The help was immediate and Cairoli was taken to the health post on the Giglio Island, where all resuscitation techniques were tried. Unfortunately, the doctors' attempts were useless and the man was transported to the Grosseto morgue.

According to the first reconstructions, the causes of death should be natural, even if the public prosecutor ordered an autopsy.
He had been in the Igt group for 11 years and has experienced all the national and international transformations of the company. But his managerial experience was a quarter of a century long, with offices in companies such as Bialetti, Star Alimentare Spa, Julius Meinl Italia Spa, Motorola and Kraft, from marketing director to top roles, Ceo or general manager.

Graduated in Business and Economics from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Fabio Cairoli had been a member of the Executive Committee of the World Lotteries Association since 2014 and of the Executive Committee of the European Lotteries since 2015.
The editorial staff of Gioconews.it joins the mourning of the sector and its loved ones.

“Fabio was an outstanding manager. He stood out for his passion, his leadership skills, honesty, his commitment to results and innovation. His leadership in Global Lottery's Sales and Operations area, Lottery Operations in Italy, Global Lottery's Product and Sales Development, and Global Lottery's Technology and Support has been incomparable. All of these jobs remain in capable and expert hands. Over the years, many in our sector had also established personal relationships with Fabio, a friend and colleague who was respected even outside the gaming sector".
It is the memory of Marco Sala, Igt Executive Chair, for Fabio Cairoli, Igt Global Lottery's Ceo, who suddenly died yesterday, in the press release released by International Game Technology, in fact.
"In this difficult moment, Igt extends its deepest condolences to Fabio Cairoli's family, and dedicates every effort to support any of their needs"
