Samantha Abernathy interview: 'I'm excited for my first Wsop experience'
After a series of victories in minor tournaments (tornei minori c'รจ un modo particolare x dirlo?) and after having attracted the attention of all the poker field for its incredible beauty combined with an excellent and promising talent at the table, for Samantha Abernathy is coming the moment of truth: the World Series of Poker.

Gioconews.it interviewed her on the eve of the very first tournaments she will play between the Daily Deepstack and the events valid for the bracelet to be world champion.
How do you feel Samantha, what is your mood in this very important moment for poker players from all over the world?
"Doing well, just trying to rest up for the first day of WSOP events tomorrow!".
What do you expect from the WSOP?
"This year I'd like to begin my focus with the daily DeepStacks just as Flaminio did last year when he won the DeepStack player of the year and the seat to the main event. I saw the interview you did with him after the trophy ceremony on youtube and it inspired me to strive for the same achievement, which I believe is more significant than winning a bracelet event as there are 100,000 more players overall".
Will you play some events for the bracelet or not? "Yes I'm going to play the main event, the millionaire maker, and a couple of the other bracelet events as well".
Wow nice scheduling!! Which player do you hope to meet and which one you hope not to meet? "Thank you! I'm excited. It's my first Wsop experience so I'm really looking forward to it I would love to meet Vannessa Selbst. I have watched her play numerous times and really respect her play. As far as who I would rather not meet, I honestly can't think of anyone who I would prefer to avoid".
Are you studying or reading a good book or do you think that the live game is enough? "It has been a combination of various things. I started out by studying, but playing live tournaments and applying those techniques while defining my own style has helped me improve the most. It also helps to be able to process through hands with someone who has a lot more experience, like Flaminio, who can help me figure out a better way I could have solved the problem and maximized profits".
Are you just playing poker or continuing your work? "I'm continuing to balance freelance work alongside poker. I really enjoy design, photo, video and any form of creativity, and freelance projects are the perfect compliment for playing poker as it allows me to make my own schedule. I really don't see myself letting go of it any time soon".
