Eag expo which takes place across 16th-18th January at ExCeL, London has been chosen to host the five category Bacta annual awards. The winners will be announced in the Bacta lounge at Eag at 6pm on 16th January.

The Awards are being judged by a three person panel comprising Eag chairman Martin Burlin, Miles Baron, chief executive of the Bingo association, and Brigid Simmonds, current chairman of the Betting and gaming council and former chief executive of the British beer and pub association.

The categories comprise Bacta’s High street hero, which celebrates the outstanding staff who work in Britain’s Agcs, High street bingo and inland Fex’s; the Seaside saviour which is for staff working in coastal arcades, Fecs and Piers; Supply chain champion, for those largely unsung heroes and heroines who play a vital role in helping to deliver fun and entertainment to communities across the country and Green giants which recognises individuals or businesses showing a commitment to reducing their carbon footprint and promoting workplace sustainability.

The fifth Bacta award is in the memory of the late Jimmy Thomas who served the industry in many different capacities not least as Bacta national president, xhairman of the Bacta charitable trust and as xhairman of Ate Ltd. The Jimmy Thomas rising star award aims to find the best and brightest industry members aged under 30-years.

Previewing the Awards bacta chief executive John White said: “I am delighted to announce our illustrious judging panel who have served the broadly-based hospitality, leisure, low-stake gaming and amusement sectors with great distinction. Many Bacta members are also members of the Bingo association or the Betting and gaming council a fact which underlines the strength and influence of our broad church of industry representatives. The Bacta awards shine a light on those individuals and organisations who are making a difference and who are part of the continuous process of raising standards and consistently exceeding the expectations of modern consumers.”

He added: “It is fitting that we will be presenting the Bacta awards at Eag - the industry’s flagship exhibition for the amusements, bingo and low-stake gaming sectors and the event which the industry looks to for inspiration.”

The 4,000+ operators from sectors including family entertainment centres, adult gaming centres, seaside piers, leisure attractions, bars, clubs, bingo halls and bowling centres expected to attend the 2024 edition of Eag, Expo will have the opportunity to access the very latest product launches and innovations from over 100 leading brands, share insights and experiences with industry colleagues, keep up with developments impacting social responsibility, celebrate industry excellence at the Bacta Annual Awards, and participate in Eag’s business-centric seminar programme.
