Industry thought leaders including Simon Barff, Managing Director of Clms, Quentin Stott, Managing Director Reflex Gaming, Nick Rudd, MD of The Rudd Group, Chris Black, Managing Director of Sound Leisure and Pauline Bass, Director of Customer and Guest Experience, Stonegate Group will be panellists on the Pub and Club Summit taking place at 1pm on 16th January – the opening day of Eag Expo 2024.
The 90-minute panel discussion, one of the most in-demand seminars taking place at Eag, brings together equipment manufacturers, operators, data analysts and pub retailers to discuss the key issues facing the sector including advances in technology, age verification, new payment methods and the contributions made by pool and music to the pub entertainment experience.
Bacta chief executive John White, who has curated the seminar programme, believes the line-up of distinguished panellists underlines the importance of pay-to-play leisure equipment in the pub sector and by extension their value to the pub business model. He said: “First of all I would like to say a big thankyou to our guests who have been extremely forthcoming and generous in their support of the seminar programme at Eag.
The Pub and Club Summit is arguably the best opportunity of the year to explore the challenges and opportunities facing the sector and the panellists will provide a comprehensive analysis of the issues not just from a gaming perspective but also including pool and music.
The space occupied by an Awp was famously described as the most profitable area of the pub interior and Simon Barff of Clms is one of the best qualified members of the industry to provide an update on the market and give some context to the contributions made by gaming machines to bottom-line profits.
Continuing on the gaming theme, Quentin Stott of Reflex will explore how the advances in technology can enhance the gaming experience, assist in the identification of under-age players and help licensees remain compliant, with Pauline Bass looking ahead to the potential legal relaxation of the use of debit cards on gaming machines and what that will mean to retailers, operators and games creators.”
He added: “When analysing our industry’s relationship with the pub sector the conversation would not be complete without reference to pool and music. As such I am delighted to confirm the participation of Nick Rudd who will be demonstrating how a strong pool offering can attract and retain customers and Chris Black who will be drawing on decades of experience to explain the relationship between pubs and music and how jukeboxes enhance the entertainment experience.
Eag is a fantastic way to start the business year offering a compelling combination of accessible knowledge delivered by experts and the best line-up of the latest game-changing amusements and low stake gaming machines.”
The 4,000+ operators from sectors including family entertainment centres, adult gaming centres, seaside piers, leisure attractions, bars, clubs, bingo halls and bowling centres expected to attend the 2024 edition of Eag Expo (16 – 18 January, ExCeL, London) will have the opportunity to access the very latest product launches and innovations from circa 100 leading brands, share insights and experiences with industry colleagues, keep up with developments impacting social responsibility, celebrate industry excellence at the bacta Annual Awards, and participate in Eag’s business-centric seminar programme – all free of charge!
